Kyra Simmons My First Experience Essay

                    My first Bus ride

My first time on the CTA bus, it was one of the scariest moments of my life. One weekend I decided to spend the night at a cousin’s house and the only way home was on the bus. I was on 82nd Ingleside, it was 8:00 in the morning and I had to take two buses to get back home. I was thinking to myself saying this is not normal for a twelve year old. I was so nervous, sweating, and eyes wondering at the sight of nothing but complete strangers. That morning my cousin rode with me to 63rd, but that was the end of the line. She then told the bus driver to make sure I got off on Damen, and then she asked me if I knew my stop and was I afraid. I shook my head yeah, but in my mind I was saying no don’t leave me. I was on the bus for like an hour an hour, but it felt more like a life time. With every stop it felt more and more like torture. Everyone seemed to be starring at me, as if they never seen a kid on the bus before. I was literally taking notes on that bus, watching their every move, especially when they were pulling the string to let the driver their stop. Then I started to think I should be doing the same thing, but just like my luck I couldn’t reach it and no way was I standing up on a moving bus. That then made me frustrated, so I was about to just get off right then and there and walk around until I saw something familiar. The bus driver was making me suspicious, I was wondering if he would ever tell me when my stop was. I held my head down, while tapping my feet praying to god that I get home safely. But with that prayer came a miracle. I saw something familiar stores, people and of course the big sign that said Damen. With all the excitement in the world I shouted stop, wait, this is my stop before the driver could say anything. That bus ride cured all my fears, because within that walk home I wasn’t afraid of walking those two blocks home, or the neighborhood dogs.

The story was good, but why you scare to take the bus by your self?

The story was very interesting and good. I like the way you talked about the your topic. I like your details. I think that you should just watch your grammer.

I think that it was a good story, but what you had did was put things in the wrong tense. They could have made a little since but other than that everything was great.
