250 word essay
NIGGER: SUMMARY

This book is about Dick Gregory’s life. About his hardships of being poor and, his accomplishment of being a comedian and a activist. About Richard’s father was never apart of his life. How his family was so poor that they were on relief which is like welfare for them. How Richard’s was apart of a single parent household. He was just a young boy trying to make some money for his family. Richard would always steal things from the ten-cent store. Also how he was so lonely that he would lie all the time. When he got picked on he would use jokes just so the bullies would leave him alone. As Richard went to school he had a crush on a girl name Helene Tucker who often tried to impress. But that just made matters worst. As Richard got older he was on the track team which was a sport he also took at college where he became recognized. Also before that Richard thought he was suppose to be on the Scholastic Record and was not. Which later led to a protest which led to him becoming an activist. Richard was drafted in the army and there he was influenced to pursue comedy which later the result of him being a comedian. While Richard was in college his mother passed away which led him and his siblings to separate. After the army he went on to do comedy. While Richard had jobs in some clubs where he later met his wife Lillian who he later had a child by. For a moment Richard was down and out where he had nothing. Until he started getting gigs at some clubs which only lasted for a moment. Richard started doing shows at prisons where there he began taking action as an activist. Just to conclude Richard was a very successful man. Later on in the rode he caught up with his father and promise him that his kids will always be his grandchildren. I enjoyed this book very much. And I would also recommend this book. What I didn’t like about the book was when he was little everyone would say this is for his kind.`
