My Time Is Up

It was a regular day for me, as usual. I was getting ready for school, but when I was leaving the house, I noticed this house across the street that I have never recognized before. I didn’t think anything of it at first. So I continued my journey to school. When it was time to get out of school, I headed home, but before I hit the block, I bumped into this guy. When I started to apologize to him, he was no longer there. I just couldn’t figure out why all these strange things were happening. I ran home to tell my mother what I had seen, but when I opened the door, there was blood everywhere.

I kept screaming out, “Mom, Mom”, but there was no answer. I had to catch my breath, so I went back outside. As I was going back into the house, everything was back to normal again. I looked to my right and there she was sitting on the couch, watching lifetime as she said, “Hi, baby, how was your day at school?”
“Fine, mother” I said, as I was standing there looking puzzled. I went into my room, closed the door, and sat down on my bed wondering if I’d gone crazy or if what I saw was actually true. Figuring taking a nap would clear my head, I decided to go to sleep.

While I was sleeping, I had the strangest dream. In this dream, there was the same strange man that I had seen when I was coming from school, earlier. Time seemed to stand still and everything started to go in slow motion. As I looked into his eyes, I saw that they were completely black. He outstretched his hands to me and, all of a sudden, I woke up in a cold sweat. I went to the bathroom to wipe my face and, as I looked in the mirror over the sink, I noticed that my eyes were completely black. I screamed at the top of my lungs and ran into the front room where my mother was.

I started shouting at my mother, hysterically. She looks at me as if I was crazy and got up off the couch. She gave me a hug and tried to comfort me. I tried to tell her about the dream, but she wouldn’t let me speak, so I stormed out of the house with all of this anger in my system. I just couldn’t figure out what was happening to me.

As I ran down the street, I thought about my friend, Michelle. If there was anyone in the world who would listen to me, it was her. I made it to her house and knocked on the door. I kept knocking and knocking, but there was no answer. I knocked one last time and my entire hand went through the door. The wood was turning into a clay-like material and, the more I struggled, the more I was pulled in.

When I tried to pull back, I was finally pulled through the door and into the house. I was thrown onto my back. When I got up, I looked at the door and it was wooden again. I began to look around the house and call out Michelle’s name. As I ran up the stairs to her room, I was stopped in my tracks by the same man who seemed to be stalking me. Sick and tired of running away and wondering just why he was always bothering me, I began to ask him why all of these things were happening to me. Before I could even ask him, he began yelling at me. “You are no longer alive” he told me. He kept repeating this over and over. The more he said it, the more confused I became until tears started to run down my face.

I tried to push pass him, but he stopped me and pushed me off the steps. As I fell back, a hole in the floor opened up and I fell straight through the floor. Another hole in the ground opened and I fell straight through. Many more holes opened up until I finally reached my destination. I landed flat on my face and I was sweating bullets. I got on my feet and started to look around. There was no light present; my eyes couldn’t pick up a thing. As I yelled out for help, there was an uproar of flames right in front of me, and creatures jumped out of it. They pounced on me and pinned me down to the ground. They clawed at me and bit down on my skin as if I was merely food, and all I could ask was, “Why?”

As I screamed out for help, many tears began to run down my face. I began to lose my voice from all the screaming. Suddenly, within the blink of an eye, I stopped struggling as the demons were gone. The strange man from that entire day was standing over me. As I kept on crying, he reached down and grabbed me by my collar. He picked me up off my feet and said, “You’re here because you belong here, and this WILL be your final resting place. All the negative souls go here. This is your punishment, so accept it.” After saying that, he dropped me back on my feet and the creatures reappeared as they rushed toward me. Before they could reach me, I woke up in a cold sweat. A nightmare inside another nightmare.
