The Unexpected

I would say i was around twelve years old, it was a sunny afternoon, the sun was about to go down in two minutes, we were outside jumping rope, we meaning me and my friends. we were out there all day, my mother left the house to go to the store and we continued to jump rope, when she left we continued to jump rope, all of a sudden two cars came down the block real fast, one was a police car and another one was a regular car. we didnt know what was happening, all of a sudden the men started shooting at the police and the police started shooting back, we didnt know what to do but to hit the ground, i ducked down and hid behind my friend while all the other ones were ducking down. they turned the corner and we got up in shock, then the car came back around again and their was a noise (swurve) the car almost hit a parked car. i looked around, their was the smell of gun powder, the rest of my friends got uo off the ground, once again we were all in shock, after all the excitement, we all decided to go in the house where it was safe. once in the house i waited for my mom to come back from the store just to make sure that she was o.k, when she did i was happy she was o.k, i told her what happened and she told me she was glad that i was o.k and that we made the right decision to come in the house. after that i never forgot that day.
