Do things happen for a reason?

I’m asking do things happen for a reason.
Why I’m asking that because if something is meant to then let it be. I’m in a relationship and sometimes I wonder is it meant to be between us. If it is would he treat me like he do, show that he love me, or would he be my best friend. The relationships I have with him are like I love him and care for him and he is also my best friend because I could talk to him about any thing that is just how close we are the way I feel about him is away that he will know. I ask do things happen for a reason or is just not to be between relationship is just meant for people to be together for seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years, decades, century. Do things happen for a reason I ask when the person u love gets into over nothing is that just a way to show how much you and that person love one other or when you can’t sleep at night with talking to each is that just a way to show that you live with out each other or times when that person isn’t there and all u do is talk on the phone all night and day for hours telling each other how much they is been missed sometimes things do happen for a reason to how much you could love and care for a person that’s why things happen for a reason.
