Jennifer Buchanan A Prom Night From Hell
A PROM NIGHT FROM HELL
It was prom night of 1996. Everyone was excited because this was the night they had all been waiting for. The girls were dressed in their finest dresses and the boys had on their best tuxedos. There were girls and boys dancing everywhere, having the night of their lives. They were drinking to the point where they could barely stand up by themselves. This was their prom night, a night they would always remember for the rest of their lives.
It was 12:30 am and prom night was finally over and everyone begin saying their good-byes and how they enjoyed themselves for the first time in a long time. Many of the students had so much of a good time that they were not even ready to go straight home. Three girls Amber, Patricia, and Melissa decided to go on a road trip with their prom dates David, Sean, and Patrick. The couples didn’t know exactly where they wanted to go, but one thing they knew for sure was that it was nowhere close to home. David told his friends that he had to go pick up a few items from, but it would take him no time to get back. That’s exactly what he did.
They decided to head on to the road so they could get the party started as soon as possible. They were driving and driving, but neither of them had any sense of direction. All they knew was this was a time to get away from home and they were going to take full advantage of it. It didn’t really matter to them where they were going as long as they got there safely.
They continued to drive until they came to a sign the read “One Way”. Of course they had no other choice but to go that way because the other way was a dead end. As they continued to drive they came to a beach house in the middle of nowhere. Not too far from there was a beach called Creep Rock beach. The boys and girls could not understand why anyone would name a beach Creep Rock beach, but they were also not trying to figure out why. They just knew this was going to be the place where they were going to have a nice time, at least that’s what they thought.
All the girls stood around trying to figure out what they were going to do first. It was pretty dark and they were getting a little scared. Patrick suggested that the go swimming and later figure out what else they wanted to do. Everyone agreed. The girls told the boys that they were going in the beach house to change and they would be right back. The boys said “alright, but don’t be too long because we don’t want to have to come looking for any of you”. All the boys said they were going to swim in their boxers or nothing at all, so the girl’s said the boxers were just fine.
When the girls made their way to the beach hose they noticed that the door was already cracked open, so they were not sure if they still wanted to go inside. They decided to go in anyway. When they got inside they notices spider webs and heard all kinds of noises coming from the back of the beach house, but they figured they had nothing to worry about. They were the only one’s there, at least that’s what they hoped was the case. They all decide to go into the separate locker rooms that way they all would have the privacy they needed to do what they had to do. Amber happened to get finished dressing before the other girls, so she told the girls she was going to look around and she would be right back. They told her to be careful and not to go too far where they couldn’t find her. They knew Amber had a little problem so they wanted to keep their eye on her. She was also a very curious person and just about anything could catch her attention, good or bad.
While Amber was looking around she heard a cry of a girl from the back of the beach house, so she begin running back there to see what it was. When she got back there she noticed a girl covered in blood with her tongue hanging in her hand. She then saw a man in all black with the knife in his hand, but when Amber rubbed her eyes and looked in the direction where the man was standing she noticed that the man was no longer there. Amber started screaming and running to where the other girls were and they tried to ask her what was wrong, but she couldn’t stop crying and told the other girls what had happened, but by the time they tried to see for themselves the body was gone and the room where the girl laid was clean like no one had ever been back there. When the other girl’s saw that there was no body back there they begin to think that there was probably no body back in the first place. They thought Amber was probably just hallucinating.
Patricia and Melissa told Amber that they had to get out of there because they was some spooky stuff going on and they did not like it one bit. The girls got back where the boys were and there were only two of the boys there. The girls told them what had happened. Sean and Patrick said that David told them he was going to go look for us because we were taking too long to come back. They waited and waited for David to come back, but for some season he took a long time to come. When he finally showed up he was in his boxers, sweating up a storm. His friends could not understand why, but they didn’t think to ask what took him so long. They just continued on with their evening. They all got in the water and did what they planned to do in the first place.
An hour passed and Patricia said that she had to go to the washroom, so they told her to go ahead and hurry back. When she got to the bathroom and sat down on the toilet the toilet flushed by itself. The thing that was so crazy about it was that the toilet was not automatic. There was something spooky going on, but Patricia tried not to think about it. She washed her hands and got ready to head for the door. Before she could she saw the shadow of something behind. When she turned to see what it was, a hand grabbed her by the neck and the other sliced her neck from ear to ear. There was blood everywhere, on the walls and even on the floors. Patricia was now gone forever. Not too long after that David had also just come back for the bathroom, but claimed he had not seen Patricia. The girls begin to get scared because Patricia had gone to the bathroom thirty minutes and she had not yet returned.
Everyone begin looking everywhere for her, but could not seem to find her anywhere. They looked in the beach house and when they tried to check the women’s bathroom, the door was locked. They kicked down the door, but still no sign of Patricia. This was not good. There was no way they could leave school with six students and come back with only five. Something had to be done. Sean could not believe what was going on, he knew that Amber was the type of person to run off, but he just didn’t believe Patricia would do any such thing. There had to be an explanation for what was going on. Patricia could not have just disappeared like that.
