Less than a Second
Have you ever thought of how important a second, or maybe half a second could be? Maybe you haven’t, maybe you don’t appreciate how important a second or half a second could be. I have appreciated every second now especially when I dive into the clear, blue, cold water. In swimming every second is worth a lifetime. During a meet your heart beats a million times per second. Then the whistle blows and you dive, your hands and feet are moving like there is no tomorrow. Every breath you take tastes like glory. You try to take in as much air as you can, like if it’s your last one. When coming to an end you realize that all of your work wasn’t good enough. You made it into second place due to the fact that your stroke wasn’t fast enough by less than a second. It’s at that point when you realize that a second could be as important as anything else. A second could change everything.
