Yes, The Experience of Prom is overrated because people spend more money on prom night, they spend money on expensive cars that they ordinerally couldn't afford, elabrated dresses & tuxedos, jewelry and hairstyles that they are going to mess up in 2 days after prom, the tradition is to go to Great America where you will spend an additional $15 to get admitted into it and than the money a person spends is crazy to enjoy yourself while you are there.
