Because I Messed Up


Because I messed up in school I've been feeling kind of down
I feel lost and as if I'll never be found
Because I messed up in school I feel like there is no hope for me
All I can do is wonder "How did I let this be?"
How did I go from being an honor student to becoming just another statistic?
All because no one would listen
Since I was not getting the attention that I felt I deserved
I tried to retaliate, but now I'm the one that's hurt
Because I messed up in school I am the one who is suffering
And it feel as if its not getting any better its just worsening
Because I messed up in school its a problem that I have to fix in time
because if I don't then I'll be the next one standing in the welfare line
It's funny because it was in school when I had made up my mind that I would stay focused so that I could become a successful poet
I earned my lesson now and believe that I 'll be on track soon
Because I have set a goal that I intend to accomplish and that to graduate in
