I consider the experience of going to prom to be a very overrated thing. I think it is made up to be one of the best days of your entire life, and it would be unheard of for you to miss your own Prom night. The only reason I went to prom was because everyone spoke of the night so highly. They constantly told me of how much fun they had while on their prom and of all the fun they had after the prom was over. These stories convinced me to go after a while, so that I can feel the same way about my prom. But the day of prom showed me that aside from all the fun you think you are going to have that night. You will be just as stressed out preparing for it. The day of prom, I had so many things to do it was no way that I would have mad it on time. First I had to go get the flower thing that goes around the girl’s risk. Second I had to get my hair braided for prom. Third I had to go to the barbershop to get a lining. Fourth I had to go get the car that I was taking to prom. Fifth I had to get dressed, and take some pictures for my family. Finally I went to go pick my date up at her house, and also take pictures for her family. It was the most stressful day of my entire life. But despite all of that, I still managed to have a good time while I was there. All together I can see why people are so hooked on the idea of prom night. But I still find the day, and the entire process to be overrated.
