Latricia Redmond
2nd Period

The advice that I would give an oncoming freshman is to stay focused. I would tell them to stay focused on their work rather than on these little boys or girls because it is not worth it. I would tell them that High School is what you make of it, it could go smooth if you make the right decisions, and it could be pretty rough if you make the wrong decisions. Another thing that I would tell them is to be careful who they hang around because that also effects your state of mind. If you hang around someone who only wants to party and hang out all night and does not have any goals set then nine times out of ten it is going to influence you to become careless as well.
I would advise them to keep their head into them books instead of in the streets.don't get me wrong you do need to be street smart in order to make it in this world, but what good is being street smart, and not have at least a high school education? To this day many people are struggling and are depressed because they dropped out of high school and they can't find a job and they're wishing that they would have done right in school. I'm just a senior and I'm already regretting messing up in school. Once you mess up in school it's hard to get back on track. And just think going to night school Mondays through Thursdays taking the same exact stuff all over again is not fun at all. It is very frustrating and depressing. It's okay to have fun every once in a while, but there is a time to play and a time to learn you just got to know when.Just try your best to stay on task and keep a straight mind and trust it will pay off.
