I find The Jewel story realistic and unbelievable because the married man found out that his wife have been getting money and jewelry. At first he thought that his wife had fake jewelry until his wife had passed and he went to the pawn shop and found out that it was stolen and real. After he knew that the jewelry was real he decided to trade the jewelry in for some money. He wanted to have all the things that he didn’t have before. He wanted to be able to pay all the bills that his wife left. This story can be realistic because it can happen to anyone. If I was in that type of situation I would leave my husband some money that way he would be financially stable. They say money wouldn’t change anything but it could; especially if it’s a lot of money. It doesn’t matter if she was getting jewelry and money from other people because she was taking care of the household bills. The author doesn’t tell us the wife’s name; I wonder why. I think marriage should be about a 50/ 50 relationship where they both bring money to the table. If the wife is making more money than the husband then he should work twice as hard like the wife. The husband knew that his wife was very beautiful and any men would go after her. In real life people would give females money and gifts and don’t want nothing in return. That’s how I see it.
