Zimbabwe
There’s no place like Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe is a place that i've grown fond of this past summer. It was a place where i gained new and strong friendships. It was also the best spot to chill at after a skate session or a great place to stay elevated. The place was simple yet beautiful. The spot was a huge grassy area with nice heavy trees. I say heavy because there was this sketchy branch that could hold anybody that decided to swing on to it even me in my chunkier days. The day always seemed right to just go and chill and there was never a day where the brets or I suggested we go to Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe was always the place to go to eat a pizza too. Every day my brets and I would always find a way to scrape up 6 dollars to go buy a pizza from seven eleven and skate back to Zimbabwe while keeping the pizza hot. It was just a ritual we had and we never broke that ritual. I’ll never forget the crazy things that happened around there. We got stopped by cops because suspicious activity around the area was being reported, my friends bullied me into trying to steal my clothes leaving me their shirtless, we tried to start a fire by taking reeds and lighting them on fire pretending they were lit spears, when we found sealed packages and a bike that was locked to a nearby chain fence that had been left there for months, or even the time when me and the brets went to the spot early in the morning just because we wanted to appreciate the scenery. All those times hold a special part in my memories. It’s definitely not a spot that i intend to forget. It’s a small spot but it really feels like it’s our own world and a great place to make new memories and hold new adventures.
