TEWWG!!
Janie fully acquires control of her life by speaking up for herself and getting respect by telling phoeby the story instead of telling it directly to the reader, it does take away from the idea she acquires her own voice, by janie not speaking up and not staying she. she doesn't let people control her life and speak up for her. The most important thing to janie is her happiness and she doesn't let any one come between that. janie chooses her own future and path for herself, she doesn't what people think only what she thinks about herself. When janie tells phoeby the story she wouldn't leave out details because she wants her bestfriend to know how she feels and get her compeletly but would be different from telling a reader because she doesn't know them and its hard telling a stranger your life and experiences you went threw.
