The Eyes Were Watching God

The importance of the concept of the horizon was life and new opportunities. Each man widens her horizon because her life seems more complete with each man she got, and the significance of the novel is more doors opened for her. Janie life was based on becoming a woman, the mens in her life. Overtime her horizon disappeared when her backbone died, her nanny. Her husbands, Logan that her nanny wanted her to be with him for support, Joe the mayor and Teacake the young boyfriend. Being caught in jealously, lust, trust, and being a trophy wife. Sometimes her horizon came back up when she went from wearing nothing but overalls to being praise wearing fancy dresses and pearls. In addition, her being able to wear her hair down freely while with teacake, who was a younger man he was an adventurous person. Logan, the older man who could support her finically but not love. Joe, who wanted Janie to wear her hair up & her to be just like a trophy just to show her off. Her whole life she has been climbing a mountain, it wasn’t always easy to reach the climax where there was happiness. The point of the ending in this story is love isn’t always easy but at the end more doors can open up for you.
