janie's life

Janies focuse was to get to the horizon, which held many opportunities for her, and each man she was with brought her closer to them, but at the end of the novel she relize that many of those men held her back.

The horizon reprsents the far-off mystery of the natural world with which she longed to connect to.the horizon was like the opportunities in janies life because she was aware of them, but every time she tried to get them there was something standing in her way. janie could of been very successful in life if she would of been more independent, she could have been known for more than just being someones wife. just like the horizon it was hard for janie to reconize the opportunities she had, and when she did start to see them, it seemed too, late.

Janie and each of her men widened her horizon because each relationship made her a better person. she learned something from every relationship, they showed her the raelity of how life really was. her relationship made her a stronger women, she learned how to stand on her own.

Through janies whole life, she never really got to make decisions for herself. she didnt pick her first husband, because her grandma made her marry someone who she thought was best for janie. she didnt get to pursue anything she wanted to do, because her husbands had her doing what they felt women should be doing. she always had to clean up around the house, work in a store, or cook. if janie would of been able to control her own life, she could of been a more happier person, and she wouldnt of aged like she did.
