In the novel The Canterbury Tales consist of many different tales of people who encounter issues of trust, sacrifice, love, and friendship. My group and I had told the story of the Franklin's tales. My favorite character is Dorigene. Dorigene in the Franklin's tale battled with her decisions for the love of her husband.
The Franklin's tale is about a married woman who sacrifices herself to a man who supposedly is able to move rocks away from a sea in order for husband to return safely back home. Dorigene battles the decision to have an affair with a man who is able to help her. Her husband, Arveragus went away to Britain for 2 years. Back home, Dorigene has an admirer named Aurelius. Aurelius wants to help Dorigene but only if she has a relationship with him.
When Arveragus returns home, Dorigene was reluctant to let her husband know that fro him to come back home safe she had to have an affair while she was away.
Dorigene is my favorite character because of the fact that what she went through happens in real life, where women who love their mate will do anything for them, even have an affair. Its unfortunate that happens but its the issue of trust and love you have to deal with in your mind while doing something you wouldn't normally.
I have dealt with with an issue kind of like that but of the young people, because I'm only 16. Trust its hard to have altumatems, its very difficult but as you mature you will know whats worth you.
