Cedar Point

Five hours away lays an enormous amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio called Cedar Point. A place where the rollercoasters take it to a whole other level.  Cedar Point is like the "adult" version of Great America. During the five hour drive you get this mixture of happiness, and tiredness of course, from having to wake at 6 a.m. to get there right when it opens. On the way, you're just thinking to yourself, "What am I going to ride first?"

This amusement park lies on a thin piece of land with the view of Lake Erie wherever you turn your head. It's almost like you're on an island. As you drive, you pass many beautiful beach homes that are exciting to just glance at. The moment you finally see the rides through the fog from the lake, you get the same feeling of excitement as if you're on the ride.

You pull up in the parking lot and see many people, probably experiencing the same feelings as you. Then you look ahead and see a tall blue sign saying "Welcome to Cedar Point." Then you look up and see a big blue rollercoaster covering the first end of the park on the right to the other end on the left. It's called the Gatekeeper.

As you walk into the park you see the rest of the park ahead of you. At this point you have no clue what ride to go on. You smell funnel cakes, cotton candy, and hot dogs. Kids run all around with family and smiles on their faces.  You end up riding every ride in the park, and if you have time, you repeat the best ones.

The sun slowly creeps down and the darkness slowly creeps up. You barley notice because you are so focused on the rides.  The colorful lights flash on all around the park. You take a moment and think about which ride deserves to be last. You approach the ride and take it all in. You enjoy every second, drop, twist, and turn of the ride. Once you leave, you're already planning on the next time you go. Your feet give up and your eyes get low and you end up falling asleep the whole way home while remembering the good times that were just made.
