in high school age does matter because people will judge hard and will talk down on you. it's like if you were to tell your friends that your dating a freshmen and your a senior your friends would be like what the hell and then that would spark a whole debate on why it does or doesn't matter. it's just like always debatable but at times it all depends on their maturity level.
