What do you plan on doing when you graduate from high school?
-going to college so I can get a high paying job, but mainly for basketball.
Why do you love basketball so much?
-I believe that basketball has saved my because if it wasn’t for basketball I would probably be in the streets like my brother, which is selling drugs.

-I want to become a lawyer.
Do you enjoy attending Uplift?
-at times I do because when I achieve things in school and in sports I feel appreciated, but at times I feel like people are waiting for me to mess up.

o I cant complain ive done just about everything people do in high school

o Well yes and know cause I don’t want all the bills and stuff but I know its gonna come sooner or later and plus I like feeling independent

The Issues About School To Me!!!
1. The dress code.
2. The phone policy.
3. Its too many females here.
4. It’s not enough space here.
5. Delete the middle school.
6. Better school lunches.
7. Bathroom passes.
8. Security is tripping-hall sweeps.
The dress code was a little better last year, because we were able to wear leggings but now we can’t with our shorts and skirts. The phone policy is ridiculous because if your phone drops out your pocket it shouldn’t be taken and at 1st we were able to get them at the end of the period instead of the end the day. It’s not enough space in this school because hallways are too packed. To get more space we should delete the middle school. The school lunches as the same everyday and we need a variety. We should be able to have bathroom passes because sometimes it’s an emergency. The passing periods don’t be long enough to do everything. The security now is crazy because as soon as the bell rings they be on it (to give you a definition). All the issues I just explained needs to be changed.

Chelsea's Fashion
I love fashion. Fashion is one of the key things in life to me other than education . How I dress it is so crazy. I have to match everything. I have to match my shoes, jeans, shirt, bangles, and earrings. If I put a pony tail in my hair I also have to match my hair ribbons and hair balls with my outfit.Oh my belt too. I like to wear bright colors and also like to wear things to bring out my tone. The title of my style is, "STOOPID FRUITY KRAZZI SWAG." People might have heard this phrase before but i put my style in that spot. I give my style this title because I wear my bangles and earrings everyday and they have to match. I like to throw alot of colors together that you cant even think about that could even match but it does. I love how I dress and some other people think the same and some people don't but hey i dont need their opinion.

For millions of Americans smoking is a bad habit to quiet. Some Americans try different techniques from over the counter medication, gum, nicotine patches, all the way to hypnosis. But all this could be over with E-Cigarette. Which is an electronic cigarette device that provides the nicotine individuals crave, but with nun of the chemicals and tar that come wit typical cigarettes.
As a teenager one of the worse habits to pick up is smoking. I started smoking in the beginning of my sophomore school year. I remember that I couldn’t wait till school ended just so that I could go out and smoke. Smoking took over a lot of my life I had to smoke a cigarette before and after school. I always knew that danger of smoking but didn’t pay much attention to it.
I decided to stop smoking in the summer before my senior year. I would stop smoking for a couple days but always got back to that old habit. I kept going on and off the whole summer. And even right now I keep going on and off. I never knew how hard stopping could actually be. But with the E-Cigarette I think could keep smoking but with nun of the dangers. I don’t think I could ever stop smoking because I do enjoy smoking but don’t want it to be the thing that kills me.

I do belong to a coven, as all real Wicca’s should. Magic and spells are more powerful and more helpful if done in folds of two or greater.
If by expertise you mean my area of my magic? I am really good at dream spells and dream enhancing potions, like my great grandmother Dolores Lonnes she was looked at in her village as the dream sorcerer, so maybe that’s me as well.
Not as much as you are. I am a tad bit unsure of how people will take it and I don’t have as much attitude and self confidence as you does freakee (smiley face)
Not now… hopefully not ever I believe man already has enough power to use at their disposal, their better off thinking we’re nut jobs and cheap magicians then to use our power in ware fares
Honestly I have thought about that question and I don’t want to. Although I love being a witch I felt like a part of my life was taken from me and already written off a part I couldn’t control, something, (I didn’t necessarily have to do, but something I at least I had to try, I owed my mother and her mother that much.) I wan to let my kids grow up and reach an age to see if their open to the idea and have this apart of them and accept the responsibilities of being a Wicca

New Season New Expectations
The Uplift Titans basketball team ended the 2008-2009 basketball season with big expectations for the next year. Last season the team was in the blue north a conference in which they went (8-1) and finished second in the conference. They also won a regional championship in the state playoffs, and were this close to winning sectionals. No one in the city expected us to win because we were a new school which gave us really low expectations coming into last year. Going into the season we had a big chip on our shoulders because everyone expected us to lose. We worked hard everyday in practice because we knew that we had something to prove to ourselves and all of our doubters. We had three seniors last year Misgna Paulos, Richard Samuels, and Sened Tesfay who all contributed very big to the team last season. Misgna was the best player on the team last year and the leading scorer, Richard was the big man in the middle who gave us a post presence, and Sened was the heart and soul of the team who inspired everyone to give a little more. With the new season coming up we will miss those guys a lot, but we can not dwell on the past other players just have to steptheir game up and make up for the parts we will be missing. This year we are going up to a new conference the Red North, and we expect to win because this is something we really want. As long as we stay focused and continue to work hard we will have a great season exactly like we expect.

First Impressions
My first impressions on this class is that it's goin to be easy, compared to my previous english clases because the work was always easy but with this english class it seems real different. Also my other impressions is that the cursing policy is real ridicoulous because sometimes people can make you real mad at times and that will cause you to bring the bad side out. Also i realized that this class is filled with a bunch of goofy kids that love cracking jokes and being class clowns .

Music Review:Gucci Mane,OJ da juiceman
Ay okay that’s what you hear when OJ hits the speakers, and don’t forget the bobbing of the head when you hear the Gucci. Question is why are they so hot these days people you know well basically any and everybody doesn't matter race nor color even parents are singing their songs so you know it must be something wrong laugh out loud. But what I what to know is why are people listening to them is it because the beat of the bass or is it how they rhyme so tight. The reason why they caught my eye was because the way they rap and dress i listen to them like everyday and if they keep making music like they are now they should be in the game for a real long time. I'm wondering what would happen if they both came to uplift homecoming the kids would go so crazy and i know that it would be cracking. I also know some teachers in the school be listening to them also and they have these words that they got us saying like ay, okay, burr and, so icey
School Issues!!!
In Uplift ther are alot o fissues with the teens, such as: he say she say, my best friend went out with my ex-boydfriend, she was messing around with my boyfriend, she was talking stuff behind my back...all that causes problems. Uplift has alot of different situations with different "Clicks" (every click has a problem with somebody in the school. alot of people in this school bring outside situations and problems at home inside the school, which affects how they react with their school work and towards other students. To me that's a problem because people be fighting for stupid reasons, like instead of just jumping to conclusions every time you hear something you could just talk to the person about the situation( although sometimes people lie) but all this fighting is for nothing. Some schools have low academic scores because alot of kids get suspended and expelled for something that they could've avoided, and some even drop out. students here at Uplift be more focused on the problems then they are their school work which is another problem. They be focused more on who has the best clothes and the best shoes, when in reality that doesn't make a difference nor should that matter.

Being an upstander is not easy, many people have tried but only some are noticed for their actions. An upstander is a person that does not stand by when trouble occur they take actions and try to resolve the situation, a person that selfless is a great example of an upstander. My school been a social justice school, upstanding is a skill that we must practice. A story was released about a football player that put his own life in danger by saving twenty two people on a bus; he was listening to his mp3 player, until one of his sisters told him what was happening, he didn’t care for his life or was afraid, he tried to calm the girl down and as she looked outside the window. He jumped and hit the gun away from her and the whole bus riders were safe, because of his courageous. She was taken to juvenile detention center for charges of attempted aggravated assault, kidnapping and of possession of a firearm on school property. Some people think it was stupid, he could have died or been badly injured, but that what being an upstander is about risking your life for the safety of others.

Whick Is the best school
Recently we did a study on schools. How we did it was we took about 20 different schools that we thogught were lower class, Middle class, and Upper class, and compared them to one another. I used schools like: Wells, Senn, Phillips, and Roberson for the Lower class schools because I have heard bad things about these schools and I know that there are many more bad schools but I just choose these.
Animals
thiers many pet lovers out their and i would just like to encourage some to become vets. me my self i had two dogs this past summer and they were all i care for because me and my brother were training them to become champions. we had an all white red nose russian cobi pitbull with hazel eyes and this dog was veary smart he listen and was well train hes name was yayo. at three months old he was running with a six feet chain around his neck. but our sister left the door open of our backyard and got the dog stolen and thats when we got banks an all blue nose pitbull with white paws and blue eys we got him from craigs list some guy that had 30 pupps and gaved them away. up intell this day i got banks his one month old and my brother got his sister visious and we are planing on growing together with the dogs and take them to show and after all they are blue nose champion bloodline.

Tuesday-You want to have your umbrellas today. Scattered showers all over the place. We start off with the temp being at an low 66 degrees then later on it will rise to a high 79 degrees. It's going to be hot and rainy so remember to take an umbrellas.
Wednesday-Well it's going to be showers mostly all day. There will be mild wind here and there. Be careful out there wind the wind especially if you are just getting your hair done and the wind messes it up. I would wear something to hold it in place. The wind will be pushing in from the east and southeast blowing west. Just like i said before just make sure you have somehting to cover your hair so that it won't get messed up. The temperatures will start off at 78 degrees and towards the evening it will be 64 degrees.

school lunches
in uplift community high school our food is the same over and over and over over again.nachos,pizza,cheese,burger,spicyshicken.what i wnt to know is why? why do we get the same lunches? is it because cps cant afford those lunches. we should have a variety of food because people get tired of the same food.there have been so many complants about our school lunches.but we have yet to change that.im not saying that there is nothing wrong with our school lunches i just say why do we have the same choices every single day.our choices of food is not healthy either.if were going to have the same variety of foods they should be at least healthy for us.some peolpe including myself eat it anyways because we are hungry.i think we should start eating things like tacos,gyros,salad,turkey,chili,sloppy joes,ect.things like that.i bet if we had those types of food everybody would enjoy lunch.
Why the Wnba is treated diffrently by the Nba?
Whats the biggest diffrence from the NBA to the WNBA?The only diffrence is that the NBA players dunk in mostly every play that the only thing that diffrent from the WNBA its not like nobody ever dunk in the WNBA history and those dunks were by Candace Parker and Lisa Leslie. The NBA has video games like 2k9,NBA Live,NBA Ballers and Inside NBA but there are no WNBA games. They could at least put the 13 teams in the WNBA on 2k9 instead of puting then old school teams and the nba draft class teams.I think that they could of put them on there so they could at least get some pubilsty.The normal WNBA salrie is only 39,000-70,000 a year and the normal NBA salrie is 24 million-94million a year and thats not even half of the WNBA salrie. The WNBA has fans just like the NBA and there females all over the world who feel the same way that I do. even our school boy sports are treated better than female sports and I think thats somthing that really should be changed. I wish that the WNBA and womens sport period should be treated equally to mens sport.
Money
Everything that people do in this world has something to do with money. Money is the root of all evil and money is why most people are in school right now. What if money grew on trees and nobody was poor? What if everything was free? There would be no struggle in the world and everything would be free. In life, they say, "the more money that you make, the more people gotta hate". The point is that everyone should work hard and be the best person that they can be. When I wake up everyday, all I can think about is what I can do to push myself to the limit. Money is the motivation because the only thing that you can trust is your money. The more education is in your system, the more money you are going to make. For example, if you have your Masters Degree in business, you are going to make more money in your job. Education is the key to money becuase the more education you have, the more money and power you have.

KiD CuDi: The Man on the Moon
My first artist is KiD CuDi. He is the well known man on the moon through his influential mix tapes A KiD Named CuDi and Dat Kid From Cleveland. He also appeared on several Collaboration mix tapes with artists such as Chip Tha Ripper. KiD CuDi Born Scott Ramon Segring Mescudi first began rapping his senior year of high school. He found his niche in rapping after being inspired by such groups as The Pharcyde and A Tribe Called Quest. He managed to get his GED but once he reached Toledo University he lost interest and dropped out his freshman year and moved to Brooklyn, New York. Once he reached Brooklyn he worked at Bape where he worked on his very first Mix tape a KiD Named CuDi. After this mix tape was released on July 17, 2008 He caught the attention of Well known artist Kanye West who later that year signed him to his Music label G.O.O.D. Music. Titan Times
Saturday the Ulift Titans were defeated by the Al Raby Raiders 20-6. The game was hard fought the titans trailed 10-0 at the end of the first half. Even though they were losing the titans came out with the football at half fighting hard. Jamal Carter scored a touchdown at the end of teh third quarter. When the fourth began Raby scored again and teh titans could not strike back, they ended up losing 20-6. When the game was i talked to Mark Henry starting defensive end for the titans he said "We played really hard as a unit, but Raby played harder which gave them the edge." Even thought the Titans lost this game their season is not over with, they still have to win all of their games from now on but this task is not impossible. With the recession going on in America it effected a lot of people's lives and gotten significantly harder to maintain a job. Even though the news claims that the recession is fading away there still should be a way to increase the employment rate in our city. Also there should be equal pay so people would be able to eas their lives and would have less stress on them. My suggestion would be for the big companies to work together and find some way to increase the empolyment rate in Chicago considering that Chicago is one of the biggest cities in America. The Life Of A Uplift Titan
My life isnt so interesting. I live out west and attend Uplift Community High which requires me having to wake up at five in the morning and in order to make it to school on time must make it on the train before seven. I know you are wondering why go to a school so far away? And to be honest i would respond by saying the reason i go through all these things is because no matter what people might say about uplift i oppinion is i love it. I mean besides having the same lunch everyday everything else is good. We have some of the coolest teachers you would ever meet and overall we have a descent amount of sexy females. But more about me i am a uplift titanand play football for some of the coolest coaches who really care about my future and for this to only be my third year of playing football they have been there to help me progress to the best i can be. Im cool with the whole team and is with the team every step of the way in our bright future ahead of us. My goals for life is to just be successfull in what ever i do just like anybody from the hood who has seen the things i saw and went threw the things i went threw and who just want better things out of life. We should know that certain foods shouldn’t be in our systems. Also ever wonder why your “logs” was hard as a rock? For example, McDonald’s…wrong choice. Sorry, we all love it but it is not good for us at all. I mean who doesn’t like McDonalds but have you ever noticed the nutrition information on the side of you “Big Mac”? Over 500 calories is in that delicious burger you just consumed. That is not including the fires, drink, and if you in for desserts the pie or cookies. The food and drug administration also known as the FDA has shown that we should only consume 2500 calories a day. That meal alone is well about ¾ there. So in that case if you are watching your figure or getting into shape, why don’t you pick healthier choice sometimes? Yes McDonalds do sale unhealthy but they also have healthy choices. They sale parfaits which is fruit, yogurt, and I think nuts. I mean there are things you can eat that are fun and satisfying and not just bland like a plain salad. Nobody besides the vegetarians wants that. But maybe next time you are standing in line at McDonalds…Just think about it.

In the music business there are other values that make a track; like production, producing, promotions, etc. is what makes a track quality to the artist and the label. To the listeners the beat, the hook, the image, is what attracts a listener; but when the lyrics is heard the track can be something much more special to that person the lyrics becomes memorized and never forgotten. It becomes something cherished.

I can not wait for the weekend, have practice at 9 pm, then I have to get ready for the biggest game of my life against Al Raby and after we win, we are number one in our conference, then just have to win the rest of our games, to be get a chance to play against tougher opponents in state and beat many teams that faces us and the rest become history. After the game go home and go to church on Sunday and play my bass guitar.

My first impression of this class is that it is going to be easy. When I say easy I’m talking about easy as in homework, class work, and maybe even the teacher. My first impression of this class is that I will have no problems with the students so far because of how small it is. I say so far because I am not sure who else is in this class, but hopefully my opinion does not change.

In my English classes before I didn’t like them because I don’t like reading books at all. It’s okay to read as a class but at home it’s a no. And writing is okay at times. The way I like to do games to help learn and to take notes so I can go back to them when I need them for quizzes or homework assignments.

My old english classes were pretty good. The things that I liked were the extra credit opportunities and reading in groups. The things all of the questions that came with it. I liked the fact that we had pre-tests before tests and we had group presentations. The other things that I disliked were the points being taken off and some teachers were inexperienced.

I like this class a lot! Not only are we analyzing poetry, lyrics, we get to express ourselves through literature. The fact that I am a poet, I really enjoy this class so much. Most of my peers are comedians so since I love to laugh this class might be the best. However, I am used to Mr.Winfrey rules and regulations and knowing that I almost failed last year because of laziness, I have to do ALL work to maintain just even a decent grade. Most experiences that I had in most my classes were alright guess the best thing to do is justfocus and ask if the word can be repeated but honestly there is nothing in school that really intriguesme to be honest theres nothing that relates to school that interests me. But english does teach you a great way to communicate that interest me.

This has been a very long week we have been getting out of practice super late all this week, but we need the work since we facing the champs from last year Alraby. We finally got Mark back and no homo it feel good having the mans back on the team. But school has been going good me and my girl descent and i just been having fun with everybody Arnez,Mark,Tex,FAt,Nu,Kevin,Rob,Kenedrick,Greg etc.... just the boyz from the hood.
First Impressions
My first impression of this class is that it is very goofy. A few people are not taking class seriously. I do see the people that are actually trying to learn. A few close friends are here in this class room with me that I care about to be heard.

My Favorite Zodiac Sign
My favorite zodiac sign is a Virgo. I love Virgos because they are sweet, warm hearted, and considerate. Virgos only catches a attitude when it’s necessary. That’s the one thing I adore about them; they are patient people.

About This Week
My car is looking good the money is comin together on time so its come just like i wanted it to but i have to pay for some of the parts so it might be off point for a minute but its gon work out for the best.

My School Days
I wake up at 6:00am and i leave the house at, 7:30am. when i get to school i sit at a table, eat breakfast and talk with friends. after that i begin my normal school day. at the end of my school day, on modays tuesdays and wednsdays from 3:30pm to 5:30pm i got out back of the school for cheerleading practice. when that is done i walk home down wilson. when i get home my mom cooks me dinner, the i got outside untill 9:35pm. when i get in the house i go on the computer untill 10:00pm. whyen i get tired i brush my teeth the i head to bed.. "good night".
what i do
uum when i get up i go wash my face then i go to do my hair then i get dressup and i have to wake my brother uo them my sister go leave my sister at the baby sit but is in the same building. them i came to school go eat break fast with my cousin jessica them i go to my 1st period and so on... when school is over i go to the park and play volly ball with my friends they nice and cool.. they are so nice and they my best friends...i have a lot of fun in the park with my friends..
What Now
I'm sick of lies that are taught about our history. I'm sick of books that strip us of our dignity. Just wondering what this quote really means to me and Dr. King. What is the idea behind these few words. I just wonder everyday. I feel alive but am i living. I see people walking around with there eyes open but do they know what going on in the world. A Regular Day
i wakeup go to the bathroom do what i need to do in there,then go to my room change,do my hair , my makeup ,put my shoes on. get my little sister ready for her school i do her hair pick out her clothes then i wakl to school with my cousin ana eat breakfest at school , got to my 1st ,2nd ,3rd , 4th , 5th , 6th .7th & 8th class , the get out of school go pick up my sister from her school, then go home then cook, clean the house, eat ,do my homework, then my dad picks us up to go to the park and stay there and play vollyball with the friends untill 9 pm and go home n take a shower..and go to bed

I always wondered...what if I was a different person? Not like a different person such as personality, but if I was a whole different in reality.
I always wondered...what if I was a boy? what kind of problems would I go through, if what girls think about boys is really true.
I always wondered...what if my mom met a different man and not my dad? who would I be? just think about it for a second, it's kind of crazy.

Let me put you on a few things about me. I love fashion, fashion is me! When I’m shopping I can express me, me through the clothes I wear to to the shoes I sport. I want to stand out from others I don’t want to be like everyone else. With fashion I show people who I am.
