Bell Ringer Extra Credit =]

1. I still don't know what my plans for the summer will be. I was hoping to get a job, but I think it'll be hard to find one when the economy is so bad. I really wanted to travel this summer just like I did last summer. This year the trip that I wanted to apply to wasn't going to happen this summer. The club that I traveled with last year will only let me go once. I hope that this summer will be fun and not boring. I plan to just hang out with my sister and go to the park a lot. The second reason why I think that I won’t be able to get a job is because people think that I am 13 years old. Maybe by the end of the summer I would have grown out of this little kid appearance.



2. I oppose the Olympics coming to Chicago. I say this because the city of Chicago is already in a lot debt and bringing the Olympic will not benefit us at all. While the Olympics are being held on Chicago, many people will be helplessly looking for a new place to call home. Many will go looking for jobs because of their displacement. There are bigger issues that Mayor Daley should be concentrated on. For example, CPS is in a $450 million deficit and will most likely lay off many people. CTA needs improvement and with these high fares, many people are going to stop taking the CTA. From previous Olympics, it shows that it has done nothing but made the city worse. Mayor Daley only wants the Olympics to benefit him and the upper class part of the city. He wants Chicago to become a globalized city with many big corporations

3. If you are thirty years old and still living with your parents, I believe that it may nr bad for you. There are many reasons as to why I say this. You need to stop depending on others and become independent. If you live with your parents then, maybe a reason can be that you might need help financially. If that is the reason then another solution could be to at least move in with a friend. Being independent and exploring the world is better than staying with your parents. If the reason is because both you and your parents are attached then maybe learn to move on.

4. I have three favorite teachers. In the beginning I only had two but after some thinking I decided to add another one. My first favorite teacher is Mr. Winfrey. I choose you because you are very calm and laid back teacher. I can honestly say that I learned a lot from you and your teaching methods. I really like how you let us turn in late work and still give us that opportunity. My second favorite teacher is Mr. Haines. I choose him because he makes history and currents issues seem very interesting. I am not the type of person that is very active in news and such. Spending time with him in Washington really made me enjoy learning about every day news. Lastly my favorite teacher is Ms. Van Dera. She is always energetic and optimistic. Her songs and review games are very creative and fun. I really enjoy her classes.

5. If I were a millionaire I really don’t know what would be the first thing I would do. Most likely put all that money in various banks. After that is done, I will pay off any debts that my family has. I will also save money for me and my sisters college life. I would also donate a lot of the money to bulindng schools in poor countries around the world. Not only that but also donate money to other good causes. After all the necessary stuff is settle I plan to take my family traveling around the world. After coming back, maybe buy an affordable house.

6. What does the devil look like? I have no clue. The way religion and the media portray the devil is a red skin man with horns on his head and a tail. I really could care less about how the devil looks like. I am not a very religious person. I do have a religion but I just don’t really practice it. Religion is not a big part of my life and I don’t have much interest in it. I haven’t gone to church in a long time I don’t plan on going any time soon. I think that the devil is some made up character that the media puts out and that doesn’t exist at all.

7. When asked the question: “When do you plan on having kids?” My answer is always “I don’t know”. I always give this answer because I just can’t picture myself in the future either getting married or having kids. If I were on planning kids I want to adopt. I don’t plan on having kids till maybe im in my late 20’s because I plan to do a lot with my life. I want to travel, help out around the world, have my own business. I would probably have a kid after im done with everything and I am settled.

8. There are many stereotypes about every race. I think that these stereotypes originate primarily from the media and society. Propaganda also is a major factor in stereotypes. From every war, there is always propaganda about the opposing side. For my race, there are many. For example people tend to think that Mexicans always eat tacos, burritos, beans, tortillas. I have not eaten a burrito never so clearly stereotypes are phony! Also that Mexicans play soccer and that they are illegal immigrants. I dislike stereotypes and wish that people would stop assuming that if one race does something bad then the whole race is also the same way. People need to learn how to respect cultures.

9. Finals are tomorrow! I think I am somewhat prepared. The two classes that I really want to focus on the most is British Literature and Math. I hope that I study enough to get a good grade. I am so glad that we don’t have a final for AP US History class. Instead we have to do a power point on a country and its current issues and it will be presented during finals week. For band class I have no midterm because Mr. West took my mouth piece. For Ms. Phillips class im not really worried much because I have a cheat note card in which I can put as much information as I want. Finally I don’t really need to do much for Spanish class because I already know Spanish and I feel confident in that exam.

10. Finally I’m done with all these extra credit bell ringers! I had posted them to the blogger and after posting it said error and all my bell ringers didn’t save!! I was so mad but in the end I had to re write them all. So here I am hoping that this time it will work if not I saved this already! I hope that this extra credit assignment helps my grade enough to make it a “B”. Even if my grade isn’t that great all that matters is that I tried my best.
