In the story “How Much Land Does a Man Need” I feel that pahom got want he wanted.
He got what he greedy heart desired and it gave him an untimely demise.
Pahom truly was a character who had the wrong morals and set of virtues.
He overlooked the phrase” just a little is enough”.
To me his poor judge over took his whole thought process.
I really could tell that he didn’t know the distinct difference between need and want.
Pahom at first had the right amount of land is his possession.
He was then wrongly influenced by the devil
Then there was a deal made with the devil.
So he sold his soul for land.
I feel that he took it a step to far.
Pahom was a man that I feel was very insecure.
He let the hunger for land really impair his vision of what’s important in life.
I think he was really power thirsty and it lead way to his very undoing.
The brilliance of this story is that what he valued the most killed him.
It should truly be an example of “be careful what you wish for you just might get it”
It always tells you keep focused on the important things in life.
This story really can serve a purpose as a moral in life today.
I see this everyday now people buying what they want instead of need.
I ask myself sometimes if you get everything you want how will you get what u need also?
