How It Happened

It was around late November and Jackie was getting ready for the ice-skating trip that her teacher had planned for her class before Christmas break. Jackie and her friends were talking about what they were going to wear to the trip, stuff like that, but Jackie never told them about the crush she had on this boy, Rickie. Jackie and Rickie would always have some commit to make to each other, so one day Jackie told her teacher that she liked one of her students. The teacher asked her who and she told her Rickie. When Jackie went home that day all she could think about was Rickie and how she couldn’t wait until she went to school and see him again.

The next day Jackie and her other classmates had to make ornaments for her classroom for decorations. After she made her ornament she made a mistletoe as well, so she went around and asked her friends for a kiss, so she waited to for Rickie to come in her class during lunch, so she could ask him for a kiss. She was sitting at a computer and Rickie came over and started messing with her, so she held the mistletoe over her head and smiled at him and at first he didn’t do nothing so she said, “mistletoe” and he said he was about to give her a kiss, but she told him on the cheek. Just as the bell rang Rickie bent down and kissed her on the cheek. All Jackie could do was smile. Her friends came in and saw what happened and asked her what was up between the two of them. He decided to tell them that she liked Rickie. They asked her did Rickie like her, but really Jackie wasn’t sure if he did like her.

At the end of the day Jackie’s teacher’s wanted to talk to her. She thought she was failing in something or she was about to get in trouble for something she did, but it was nothing like that, they wanted to tell her that Rickie had feelings for her as well. Just as they were telling her this Rickie walked past. As Jackie was going home, she noticed Rickie standing in the hallway, so she started talking and he asked her did she want him to walk her home. Jackie wanted to say yes, but she was a little skeptical about letting someone walk her home that she didn’t know very well. She remembered one of her previous relationships and how she was stalked by one of her ex-boyfriends and how she didn’t want that to happen again, but it was something about Rickie that made her trust him.

As they walked home, they got to know each other. The next day Jackie was in advisory and she noticed that Rickie had walked past and this girl was pointing at her, so she asked him why was she pointing at her and he told her that he was telling her that they were going together, but Jackie didn’t like the way the girl was looking at her. During Jackie’s and Rickie’s relationship there was always somebody hating on them either with boys and girls, but as time went on Jackie was having trouble letting people get close to her. During their relationship Jackie and Rickie went through a lot of things, but just as things were going good, Jackie noticed that she was getting sick, throwing up a lot, sleeping, and feeling moody. Her mother took her to the doctor and she took a pregnancy test and it came back positive. She was so scared that all she could do was cry. She told Rickie and he took it well. Now Jackie is a month and half and her life hasn’t really begun. What is Jackie to do?
