Is the experience of prom overrated? Why or why not? Explain.

I believe that the experience of prom being overrated is somewhat true. It’s just like going to a ball, getting all dressed up, looking your best, and having a person by your side to have a good time with. However, I also feel that it’s a night that you will never forget. I also believe that these days are some of the last times you will really be able to interact with your peers. It’s a time to take pictures of all of your friends who are graduating with you. So it has its advantages and disadvantages.
For others, in this case couples, it’s different. They feel that since they are together, this day is a special day for the both of them. They feel that they will have the day and the chance to express themselves and show off their style and fashion to each other. I think that is romantic. It’s nice to know that someone is trying to impress you.
On the plus side, it’s a day when girls can get their nails done, hair done, find the perfect dress, find the perfect shoes, the perfect purse, and match themselves with the perfect date. All of the boys can go and get their fresh hair cuts, find the right shoes, find the best suit to wear, find the perfect color to match their date’s, and find the right ride to take their date in. I think it is a special day, but I also think that it’s like getting married. The girls get dressed with the help of family members for this special occasion and the men do the same. That’s the similarity. Then, nine times out of ten, the boy goes to the girl’s house to pick her up. They take dozens and dozens of pictures and then go off to prom. That’s the dissimilarity.
All together, I think everyone should go to prom. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for everyone to have one thought on their minds… which is to have a good time. Some people like to end it off with getting drunk and having sex. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend that, but the choice is yours.
